VeChain has partnered with Australian winemaker Penfolds on the sale of a case of blockchain-encrypted wine bottles, as part of its Wine Traceability Platform (WTP) initiative.

The bottles are available at the Waigaoqiao International Alcohol Exhibition & Trading Center, Chinese importer D.I.G.’s  flagship store and the Sen Lan Shang Du in Pudong New District. Further info here.

A number of other companies are making moves in the blockchain/wine space. Big four audit firm Ernst & Young, for instance, has announced that its Ethereum-based blockchain solution will be used to verify the authenticity of imported European wines in Asia. This will be implemented on e-commerce platform Tattoo, for use by Blockchain Wine Pte. Ltd.
